At Breaking Chains, we provide more than just a place to stay — we offer a structured, recovery-driven environment where individuals can rebuild their lives with dignity, purpose, and support. Our homes are designed to help residents stay focused, stay accountable, and move forward with confidence.
What We Offer
Every Breaking Chains home includes:
- A clean, safe living environment
- Built-in accountability and structure
- Ongoing peer support and fellowship
We also provide essential daily comforts to make sure our residents can focus on their recovery, not logistics:
- Paper products (toilet paper, paper towels)
- Laundry and cleaning supplies
- All utilities included
- WiFi and cable TV
- Career guidance and job search support
Who We Serve
Breaking Chains supports individuals at all stages of their recovery. We offer homes for:
- Men
- Women
- Men 50+ House
- MAT (Medication-Assisted Treatment) housing (men only)
Requirements for Staying
We are a zero-tolerance community. To maintain a safe, sober environment, all residents are expected to:
- Pass a drug screen upon entry
- Attend at least three AA meetings per week
- Work with a sponsor through their AA program
- Gain employment within two weeks (unless on disability)
- Participate in random drug testing
- Attend IOP meetings if required by their treatment program
Convenient and Accessible
We know that logistics can be a barrier to recovery. That’s why Breaking Chains homes are located near essential services and support:
- Homes are near bus routes
- Transportation vans available
- Employment assistance provided
Our Homes
Breaking Chains has houses in some of East Baton Rouge’s most established neighborhoods, including:
- Sherwood Forest
- Westminster
- Broadmoor
Rent is $150 per week. Attendance at weekly recovery meetings is mandatory. Homes also include:
- Off-street parking
- Supportive peer groups
Bonus: The first week rent is free for first time individuals with Breaking Chains Structured Living who have successfully completed a minimum 28-day accredited treatment program.
